Laura Sullivan

Independent Contractor

Luxury Travel Advisor

Laura doesn’t just plan trips; she engineers atmospheres. With a background that ranges from social work to immersive retreat design, she approaches travel as a tool for transformation — one that changes how you see the world and yourself. Her itineraries, anchored in destinations as diverse as Japan to Indonesia to Paris, are designed to slow you down and pull you deeper in: a morning spent rummaging through a tucked-away antique shop, a meal that lingers in memory for years, a detour down a dirt road that ends up defining the journey. Laura has an intuitive gift for connecting travelers to the soul of a place and for weaving in moments that feel serendipitous yet intentional. Clients who work with her describe their trips as not just beautiful, but meaningful — the kind of travel that reshapes the stories you tell about your life.

Laura’s Destination Focuses

Japan

  • There is no bad time for Japan! Springtime for cherry blossoms (if you don't mind a few crowds), autumn for beautiful leaf-peeping, winter for snowy hot springs. For peak seasons, aim to plan ahead by about a year-- for shoulder seasons, six months of lead time is usually enough. PS. the food is impeccable year round.

  • Laura recommends at least 12-14 days, especially for your first trip

South America

  • It all depends on your ideal experience! Antarctic cruise or hiking Patagonia? November-March. Amazon safari? June-September. Learning to tango in Buenos Aires? March-May or September-November. Surfing northern Peru? April-October. Lounging on a white sand beach in Colombia? December-March. Galapagos cruise? Depends on if you prefer calmer seas or more wildlife! Dancing 24 hours a day at Carnival in Rio? Whatever 47 days before Easter is.

  • For Antarctic cruises plus a night or two in Chile, save 10-12 days. For longer treks through the Andes, Atacama Desert, or multi-city stops in a single country, 2 weeks is a good start.

Southeast Asia

  • For most countries in SE Asia, Laura loves traveling from November through February. Monsoon season will shift depending on your location, so if a beach is on your goal list, let's get you the right spot at the right time!

  • If you can't drop everything and spend six months there, save about 2-3 weeks: enough time to visit multiple countries and get a taste for the vibes before you inevitably come back.
